Half-bowl of Mac Baren Plumcake in a Barling sandblasted egg after doing a fair bit of post-storm ground repair in the mustang's paddock. The chamber of this pipe gives the Marianas Trench a run for its money--a full bowl could probably last me over two hours if I had the patience (and that's a big "if"). 8/10

Bird report: California quail, California scrub-jay, House finch, California towhee, American crow, Mourning dove, Mountain chickadee, and Western bluebird.

Love your Mariana Trench parallel. I have 3 of these bigbowl jobs, and up 'till now have vastly underused them. They are all superb smokers that give me 2 hour smokes if I too, have the patience to persist. They are also the premium pipes in my collection, a Pete, a Savinelli, and a Brigham. I'm not going to "tweak" them out of my collection - they're just too good and beautiful to do so and would have to by pried out of my dead hands. But definitiely preferring a max 40 minute smoke, I've gravitated to smaller pipes as the norm.

They're now in my rotation. Solved the problem (if it is a problem) because about 3 times a week, evening, usually, I really enjoy a long smoke with milder or more aromatic tobaccos. I have enough of these that "protected species" will not be involved. When I finish my fiddling and farting around, I'll be doing a post on this, probably in the "Pipe Collection" forum as well as here. I'll also upgrade the usual snapshot by taking out my studio strobes, which are also uder-utilized. and going for it.

Just as a "tip of the hat", the "Mariana Trench" moniker you coined will now be used as a reference in addition to what I've already nicknamed "The Three Kings." :ROFLMAO: 👍👍

By the way, Fiebling’s Dark Brown (cut with a lot of alcohol) is a perfect match for Ropp’s stain on the Etudiant line.
You did a stellar job on this repair, and set a good example for all of us. Bravo. 👍 👍

Got a late start to my day, and am a third of the way through this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. M'lady and I fed our cats, and all the ferals. When I came to the den, Abner the Eager was right where he was when I went to bed. I wonder if he ever woke up in between those times, the silly li'l fella.
