My quest for old meerschaum pipes continues. Cleaning and getting ready to smoke these

I have not. I’m quite partial to vulcanite and have trouble finding cobs and meerschaum pipes with vulcanite stems.

You could very easily commission a meer with a vulcanite stem if you were so inclined. That might be a bit of a stretch though since you're not sure you like the material yet.

Part way through this bowl of year 2012 Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad.
