Vincent manil Semois in the ropp senior. First time smoking this pipe, its ok but still tastes like 'estate'. Forgot how quickly this stuff smokes, different from my 1 hour usual smokes.
Lighting up a small bowl of White Horses with extra perique. Its in a Ser Jacopo.

Sam and the scampers woke me up, so I'm half way through this bowl of year 2012 Virginia Spice in a 1979 pebble relief natural Verona Corallo 3080 Hungarian with a black acrylic saddle stem. The Virginias have mellowed a mite, and the perique is more obvious as a result.

I got this French estate pipe in last week and have been restoring it all week. It was the most disgusting pipe that a pipe cleaner has ever touched. Had to do tons of sanding a bubbling finish, and soaking the disgusting stem and stinger in alcohol, buffing with steel wool, sanding the top of the bowl, the whole works.
Even had a to fill a massive hole in the button, used super glue, a bit of cotton and some pipe ash. Sanded smooth and flat. Stem is freaking Cumberland I’m pretty sure, and it was still oxidized and had to be buffed and oiled!
Anyway, it’s been hard to wrap my head around putting this abhorrent thing pulled from the festering, sulphuric, pits of hell, into my mouth.
But here goes I guess.
I’m having some Ennerdale flake in a “Colombia” brand French smooth Apple with a tapered, straight, Cumberland stem, and coffee, and enjoying some nice weather with my best buddy, JFET.

Close to finishing this bowl of KBV Roman Soldier in a 1935 small, straight smooth dark brown Irish Free State K&P (Peterson) billiard with a silverish cap military mount and tapered black vulcanite stem.
Shared my clay pipe of Special Virginia with one of the Viking re-enactors. One of the Vikings broke his sword against a shield boss; he hit it that hard!
Need to get some more pipeweed now; been for barbecue lunch & a few beers with Leon today.

First pipe of the day is a wonderful bowl of Orlik Golden Sliced and a cup of black coffee. Birds are chirping. Fog is starting to burn off. Nothing better.
I've turned my daily pouch into a mixture of Pegasus, and Carter Hall. It's not bad.
@bluegrassbrian The Full Virginia Flake suits the King's Clay; going to get some loose Gawith Hoggarth to smoke in my clays when I go to Buxton; should I get a fresh Clay to smoke it in?
@Cwhatch I think Orlik Golden Sliced would suit the King's Clay!

Fascinating proposition- I've never actually smoked a clay. My gut feeling is to use a well smoked one that's been used for Virginias- but I don't know how you do it.
