Deep in the heart of Germany with my CAO Lattice Meerschaum and a bowl full of Artisans. View attachment 220854

I am not sure where the heart of Germany officially is situated, if there is any at all. If you goggle the term some tourist information on Facebook tells you it might be in Saxony-Thuringia.

So my dear telescope you might be sailing the Elbe in bad weather up to Dresden, and maybe you’re gonna meet there „Pudels Kern“ (Mephistopheles). Welcome in Germany.

I just ordered that Virginia recently, I like it.
I think its decent for what it is, but I think the flake packaging of DTM is a bit weird. Its like a crumble cake without really crumbling, its like a plug without needing a knife. You can forget to be able to pull out a flake, fold it twice and stuff it. I'm more used to Mac Barren or Kohlhase und Kopp flakes which are neat, lose, uniform and easy to pull out.

Also smoked Presbyterian in the one year meer.

I don't smoke clay pipes very often, but I'll take your word on that. Do you smoke clays exclusively? I only have a clay churchwarden, a Williamsburg, Virginia Tavern pipe, that I bought on eBay. The reason that I don't smoke it very often is that it seems to take two hands to smoke it. I'd like to explore the smaller clays; where do you buy yours?

We're having thunderstorms here in East Tennessee currently. Just finished some ribs left over from my lunch at Applebee's. Won't be getting ribs there in the future; they weren't very good for what I paid for them. Smoking some Boswell's Pennsylvania Dutch Treat that they sent me when I bought a pipe from them a few weeks ago. Smoking it in a Peterson's Shamrock Dublin.

@haebar Yes I smoke clays exclusively. Mine tend to be from eBay or Smokingpipes.com; I like the Old Dominion clays and imagine they'd suit living history re-enactment. Some of my clays were picked up at flea markets and antiques / collectibles shops as well.

Did the Dortios "bag note" remind you of a McClelland blend?
I suppose anytime tobacco and ketchup are in the same zip code McClelland might come to mind. Regarding the ketchup Doritos though, I like them better than the ketchup Lays. They’re a lot more vinegary than the Lays.

This morning I’m starting the day with some WCC Old Dominion in a cob.
