Some Lane 1-Q in the Vauen Olaf bent egg before retiring. Apparently I startled the mother screech owl rustling in the leaves trying to catch a chipmunk. She flew up in front of me to a nearby low branch. She's big. About the size of one of those plastic half gallon milk jugs., She then went behind the garage to root around for mice and chipmunks. She has a parliament to feed. Between the hawks and owls we only have two chipmunks left that I see. Hopefully they will catch any and all mice !! I will have to put out more birdseed to make it easier to catch the mice at night.

Yes of course are pipe shops here in Germany. There are a few left, smaller and bigger businesses. But you won’t see a lot pipe smokers smoking in public. It’s n the last two years I have seen only four guys smoking a pipe outside cafés, strolling along or otherwise in this medium sized town i live. But they are there. One must have discovered my junk shop that sometimes offers old pipes. It’s open every Saturday. Last week I discovered a few new old pipes and a pipe bag there. This time really nice ones. I missed to walk over there, and on Sunday they have vanished out of the showcase. „Someone took them out of my arms, still I can feel the thrill of their charms“ to quote a line of the 1920s song „I’ll see you in my Dreams“.

Telescope, have a nice time in Bavaria. Don’t drink to much of that Riesling, though it might be excellent. Riesling really improved over time. In the 1960s my parents called it „suure Pitter“ (sour Peter). It’s much better today with nicely balanced acidic freshness.

Yes, we have had some great wine for sure. Yesterday was Smoky Beer. Today is Nuremberg. It’s time for White Sausages and maybe a look at some big tits, LOL. But all joking aside, Baveria is indeed scenic. I enjoy my smokes in town and on the deck of the ship as we roll by the countryside.

like ur pipe so much especially the color of the stem, how long and how often did u smoke it to get that color changed?

Thank you! I bought it new in August 2022 and I’m guessing 5 smokes a week average, so roughly 180 smokes.

Hopefully closing tomorrow on a property that our horses can be on site instead of the boarding facility we’ve been using. Packing and moving sucks, but I’m looking forward to spending more time with my boy Bob.

Still experimenting with the WLT dark air cured. This stuff is ridiculously strong and alkaline, as little as 5% added to a Virginia completely changes it's character and adds noticable strength. Chopped up finely and mixed with 75% D&R 3 Sails/25% DAC in a Ropp right now.

Enjoyed another tasty golden delicious apple, and am a third of the way through this bowl of Dan Tobacco The Mallard Flake Plus Perique in a 2021 medium bend black sandblasted Peterson Newgrange 80S bent bulldog silver spigot with a tapered reddish brown, black striped acrylic stem. I'll end the day with this smoke.
