I had a predawn smoke of G.L Pease Sixpence this morning. I really enjoy waking up early to enjoy a pipe. This morning it was quiet and still, just the sound of crickets, and a gentle wind in the trees. The fireflies were putting on a show, though the stars were fairly dim. On a practical note, as a new smoker, the dark and quiet of this hour has really helped me learn to refine my technique. I find it easier to concentrate and I can observe the ember in my bowl easily. It has helped me to understand and value a well lit bowl.

Starting off my smoking day with a bowl of early 2000s Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Did a set of walking reps on this sunny, breezy day, and am close to finishing this bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in an undated straight brush etched black Molina apple with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Watching the Reds-Cardinals game.

2019 Comoy’s Cask #4 in a Sasieni Trafalgar 71S.

This was from a lot purchase, and the stem that came with it was a substitute that fit poorly. It was held in place by duct tape…

I fitted a tapered stem blank to it to make it smokable again…

Enjoyed a few slices of cinnamon raisin French toast, a Jethro Bodine size bowl of Raisin Bran, and a golden delicious apple lunch. I've just over a quarter of a bowl left of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Lavazza Classico, neat, is my drink.
