I just read Endurance, after the ship was recently found. The book is well written and a quick read, but doesn't go too in depth (and only slightly referenced tobacco and boiling of pipes). It is worth reading and Skeleton was a tough guy.
Living in Michigan, I am fascinated by shipwreck stories and those brave enough to search for and take pictures of wreckage. Suprisingly, these wrecks on the Great Lakes are more recent than I would've thought.
Tom Cream was on the Endurance. I will try and read more about him.

Half way through this bowl of Sutliff Cringle Flake (Holiday Edition 2021) in a black straight, grain etched family era (Post WW2) Four Dot Sasieni “Appleby” apple with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
Ascanian no. 2 in a Ropp Vintage. The 10% perique translates into a real pepper-bomb. Very nice.
