Late start to the day. Began with GL Pease SIx Pence in a MM Cob (blend now has six month's jar time that makes all the difference). Noontime was Wilke Chocolate in a Nachwalter smooth Scoop. Afternoon was Wilke Gramercy Park in a Tishead smooth Dublin. Now smoking Wilke Lizzie Blood Red Virginia in a Nachwalter half bent smooth Dublin with twin bore stem.

Morning everyone, started today with Merde de Cheval in the Bulldog Longchamp with my coffee.
I just got this lovely little clay in the mail. The seller attributed it to the House of Gambier, a French pipe company. It says L Fiolet with the name Jacob stamped on both sides underneath and around the turban Je Suis Le Beat Jacob (as far as I can make out). The stem is a replacement but fits perfectly View attachment 79874View attachment 79875
I did some research on these in the 1980s when I bought these which might be of interest to you.

First off, the Gambier Jacob head has "JE SUIS LE VRAI JACOB/ I am the real Jacob" in relief as that company was the first with the design.
Other companies copied the design but had to use different wording around the turban such as "LE SUIS LE BEAU JACOB/ I am the handsome Jacob" used by L. Fiolet etc.
