SPC Mississippi River in the Ornsby Pipe, I love the bit of barrel stave thrown in the tin. Watching a brilliant documentary about Orson Wells, about his art, family life and movies. The Eyes of Orson Wells, I recommend it to fans of the great man.
Yes, on the 6th May on what would've been his 106th birthday - definitely a most interesting man and a pipe smoker to boot ...

... although nowadays he's more associated with cigars - what with his massive Montecristos ... his love of cigars (and Shakespeare) recalled in 2015 when the Venice Film Festival marked his would-be 100th birthday with an exhibition entitled ‘Shakespeare & Cigars’.
Wouldn't obviously be possible to tie in Shakespeare with cigars as cigars didn't become popular in the UK until the early 1800s some 200 years after his death but it would be cool to at least associate him with clay pipes and pipe tobacco ...

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, lemon glazed flounder and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm smoking year 2017 Savinelli Doblone d’Oro in a smooth straight early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. Ethical Coffee, neat, is my drink. Forgot I still had some left in the bag. Watching an episode of The Untouchables.

Enjoyed a tasty navel orange, and am now smoking Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Evening Flake in a straight smooth brown 1950s Comoy’s Tradition 305 apple military mount with a sterling silver cap and a black tapered vulcanite stem. I have wanted this particular model for a long time, and thanks to a good friend, I finally have one. Sure is good to have friends, and pipe smokers are the most generous people in our population. Going to work as I listen to the Rays-Angels game.

Taking a short break to feed Suzy and Molly, and get a glass of ice water and bergs. So, I'm listing this a few minutes early: Wilke No. 78 in a smooth straight brown 1949 Yello- Bole Century Model Lovat with a nickel band accent on the black vulcanite saddle stem.
