Hello good people.
The Stanwell Melange tin (it was a big one) it's closing to its end. I am having some of the last in a Canasta pipe, this is the lower cost series from Ardor pipes. First pipe of the day together with the morning coffee (double dose of Greek/Turkish coffee, a special blend with spices). Coffee and tobacco (mostly cigarettes) was for decades the "traditional" Greek breakfast. Still is in a way, things are changing lately, but Greeks remain smokers.
Harp music on the i-phone, the last working day of the week is about to begin.

About to light my first smoke in this unmarked bent apple meer. The stummel was given to me by a friend and fellow forum member❤.
I've been looking for a stem and recalled another forum regular mentioning that MM stems can be made to fit the nylon push tenon. This weekend's project will be to find or make a band to cover the gaps, but for now I just wrapped the MM tenon with waxed hemp twine.
First smoke will be a jar-stoved, home-mixed blend of Sutliff 515RC, 707, and Elizabethan Match with a light topping of VSOP Cognac and dried fruit essences.

Half way through this bowl of D&R Raccoon’s Delight in my very reliable smooth straight WW2 Pre-Republic Peterson Sterling Canadian with a sterling silver band and a black vulcanite p-lip stem.

Just finished smoking D&R Ryback in a smooth straight late 1970s Charatan Special 4148DC Reg. No. 203573 pot with a black double comfort vulcanite stem.

Now smoking D&R Windsail in a smooth straight dark brown family era “Canadian” by Sasieni with a black tapered vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

After work, I smoked a bowl of fold and stuff HH Burley Flake in a Rossi 8111, and another of Rattray's Brown Clunee in a Rossi Billiard. My goodnight smoke was GLP Gaslight.

While smoking with my Chicago ZOOM buddies, I enjoyed a bowl of Bengal Slices (the Russ Ouellette recreation) in my late 1960s Comoy's Selected Straight Grain 9 bulldog. Having smoked the vintage Bengal Slices back in the day, this is not that, though a fairly good approximation, and quite a tasty one at that.
My beverage was a tumbler of Peach/Mango Green Tea with a splash of Honey Jack and a couple of bergs.

Yesterday was the second day after I'd had my 2nd Moderna vaccine and I slept more than usual, but still got in my walks/exercise and enjoyed several bowls of tobacco.
today:
I got up at 1:00 a.m., and washed the dishes then went out with a bowl of folded and stuffed HH Burley Flake in a MM Diplomat with a "P" lip stem. I think I'm about ready to run that one back!
So far, the symptoms or side effects of the second shot have been less than I'd experienced on the first. Let's get onboard with exterminating this thing.

Last smoke of the day is Angler's Dream in a 1984 Stanwell Antique 124 egg with a smooth brown front and a black sandblasted back with a dark gold ferrule and black vulcanite stem in the military mount style. Still working.

Good morning folks, starting the day with some stove top espresso and Bayou Morning in this 5” unmarked Lovat that was just delivered. This one came from the same person who sold me big Bob (GBD?) and came from the same collection belonging to a 30 year employee of GBD. There’s a few little natural inclusions on it but a little mineral oil will disguise those. The tenon on the stem seems longer than is usual, only by a few mm, same on Bob, I’m wondering if that’s a particular feature of GBD?
