Last night: Chatham Manor in a MM/C&D acrylic stem cob, special series, great pipe. The blend I found so-so for a first bowl -- pleasant, very mild, but had some little harsh edges and didn't stay lit particularly well for a tub blend, though mine was 2 oz bulk. However, a little time and a little drying may make this far better; we'll see.

Folks,

As a recent born again piper I've tried just a few tobaccos. Started with Clan (old favourite) then Condor, then a special loose bought Black Cherry and finally Petersons Old Dublin. Well, the Petersons is favourite by a long way and my daily smoke.

Don't know much about other baccies and would like recommendations for building up a small collection of really nice smokes, after the style of my 'Old Dublin'.

I'm gonna do @chasingembers sidework for him and say if you like Old Dub, give (Stokkebye/Arango) Balkan Supreme a try. Also, I haven't popped my can yet, but I read that Rattray's Red Lion is K&Ks version of the Old Dublin recipe. As far as manufacturers go, K&K is top notch so I assume it will be on point. Black Mallory is another similar blend. Pretty much anything advertised as being like MM965 should be appealing to you.

Finished my tin of Jerry Saronno, coming close to also finishing C&D's Byzantium and Bayou Morning Flake. Itching for some Burley now and hovering over C&D's Haunted Bookshop and OJK. I know it's going to be OJK in fact just biding my time a bit as the other two tins need some more days to finish. All three stellar for my tastes.
