As requested earlier in this thread here are a few of the Bel Airs I have. All were bought as estates. The previous owner of the rusticated pipe attempted to fill in the stamping with white paint. The two non rusticated ones are unsmoked and I have the boxes, socks and receipts for them. Note that Willmer was not perfectly consistent on the lengths of the stems.

Interesting note, the pipes that the Kramer character smoked on Seinfeld were Willmer Bel Airs.

Please excuse the photography.
Cheers

Sparkpluggy eh? I was sure intrigued about that rope you were having. I hope to try both Sparkplug and a twist of King B in the future still.

I haven't tried that one. I'm not crazy about latakia, I do like it sometimes though. I suspect these twist could be the same thing as a couple other types of American twist. I'd say they won't be anything like Sparkplug, as they don't contain any latakia. @rushx9 knows something about them, he did a thread a while back. It's likely made with all burley, but there could be some rustica. I suspect molasses is the main flavoring.

@maulragoth I'm not positive, but pretty sure King B is straight Tennessee Burley. I think Cotton Boll contains some Rustica, and I know Red Oak has a lot of Ky Dark Fired.

I've got a Willmer lightweight, I love the stem and button on that thing, very comfortable. Nice pipes!
