Did a set of walking reps, chatted with the neighbors about feral cats, and smoked a bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem. Lunch and the Orioles-Red Sox are next.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am a third of the way through this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. The last of this bag of Gold Star Peru Penachi Fair Trade Organic, neat, is my drink. Only had a enough for a cup and a half, so I may open another bag of GS coffee. All the ferals were still hungry and wanted out of the rain, so I fed them, and they are inside at strategic safe spots. Abner the Eager showed up, ate, and is laying near my feet. He doesn't seem very happy, but he generally doesn't have a happy camper face, so who knows for sure?

Had to do a return to break in on the new little Peterson Dublin - premature gravitation to some favoured aros, which had the net effect of building up a cake that the pipe was not ready for. Done this before, think I'd learn, eh?

In any case, the now three smokes with Smoker's Pride Whiskey has cleaned out the goop, and revealed the quite still there brownish hue (residue from the rustication process). And my go-to break in tobacco was last night's third smoke, and tasted just fine, as it always does. Not just a break in tobacco, but Whiskey is a fine smoke in it's own right.

I'm about to light up the fourth now, and the bottom of the bowl is barely brown. Break in almost done. Will leave the pipe on the rack, and when I get back tonight, smoke one more bowl of Whiskey . . . then in a day or two a bowl or three of Smoker's Pride Classic, finally gravitating to an aro-codger, probably Borkum Riff Dark. Will keep the thread abreast of the progress, but time for some extra curricular activities that are controlling my life right now lol.

I’ve recently developed a routine of smoking a pipe of Capstan blue in the morning with coffee, and one or more pipes of Lane HGL in the afternoon. -Leaves me and my woodshop smelling nice!

Today I’m smoking my Hardcastle Royal Bruyere, the first decent pipe I bought, about 20 years ago now…

Laugh emoticon is for your words of wisdom under the photo. A cup of Lap and some devilled kidneys, with the necessary addition of a bit of hab sauce, sounds like it's right up my alley. Just like my taste for "hot curried" tobaccos. Think there is a relationship between the cuisine we like, and the tobaccos we favour? :ROFLMAO:

Just finishing this bowl of 1970s Heine's Blend in a cheap, but effective, undated, unbranded slight bent smooth dark brown short shank Made in France Los Alton VBF billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Been cleaning state pipes, two of which are being obstinate about getting clean. I've four others in earlier stages of cleaning. Room for pipes is such a premium here that I took a few pipes that I really don't smoke much these days, and put them in a box to make room for a few of David's pipes in the den rack. Most of them are pipes that I bought in the early '80s including my Ascorti Saxaphone. Hated to do it, but I figure I'd better have the ones I'll smoke more handy.

The rain stopped, and both Tomato the Brave and Abner the Eager wanted out. It's supposed to get worse outside later, and perhaps one or both will return.

Rewarding yourself for a job well done is often profitable, eh? Nice pipe! Cup is likewise frugal and suitable for the task. What kind of wood is that pipe made of?

My yard pipes are the only bent pipes I own because the extra long Candians I favor tend to get knocked out of my mouth by rakes and the like....
