Yard work is done for the day and Now time for some GH Kendal #7 Shag Cut in a Peterson House Pipe and Diet Coke on the side.
Busy, busy, busy. Taking a break from the hustle and bustle the last few days with a bowl of Kendal No.7 in an HS Studio black bent bamboo freehand.
Did a set of walking reps on this beautiful sunny day, and smoked a bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem. It's time for lunch!

Ten year old MacBaren VA#1 in a Celius Root Pawn. And yes, this pipe has been chopped. At least I've never seen or heard of Axel Celius making a "Chess" series pipe without a plateau top. He did use great briar and he did know how to drill a pipe though. Absolute fantastic smoking pipe.

Thanks, man!Delightful little pipe . . . a real eye-catcher. Chamber is just a shade larger as my McQueen miniatures it seems (they're all 3/4" x 14mm) - (I don't know why McQueen use two measuring systems on their site - I figure if God had wanted us to go metric, He would have given Jesus 10 Apostles - tried unsucsessfully to stay with Imperial up here, like most of my generation).
I find the tiny bowls pretty tobacco sensitive - some cuts just don't work. Et vous? Smoked my miniature last night and am about to process a hasty shot in GIMP. Thanks for showing us that little gem.
I couldn’t agree more that bowls with tiny chamber diameters are more limiting with what can be enjoyably smoked in them. In my experience, diameter matters more than depth, as depth really just changes the length of the smoke. When I smoke my pipes with narrow diameters, I have to make sure my tobacco is fully rubbed out into tiny pieces, regardless of the cut.
I think I prefer normal diameters (.75-.85) with a shallow depth as I find them less limiting. This Tekin I’m smoking is a great example of just that sort of pipe. Pegasus in the pipe by the way

I’m getting to that point in March where I have smoked through most of my meerschaums at least a couple times and am concentrating on the pipes I am enjoying the most.
