Getting ready to watch UFC 313, Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev, which we were unable to watch live yesterday—there was a party we had to attend in Brooklyn—Lock Yard, the bar where Susan and I met in August of 2017 is closing today. Last night was the big farewell party. Susan and I had talked about having our wedding there if we ever decided to make things official. That was now an impossibility. News of their closing only became known a couple days ago. We got there about 4:30 pm. A little after 9:30 pm, I made a toast to the bar, our friends, and talked about a health scare I had last year that reminded me of the importance of the people in your life, and followed things up with the next best thing given the circumstances:

Going to have Sutliff 175th Anniversary The Old Boss in an unbranded French Bulldog Magnum (stamped Racine de Bruyère Marque Déposée), with a horn stem with bone tenon and orific bit, circa late 19th–early 20th Century.

Did a set of walking reps, and smoked a bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem. Chatted with a neighbor, too. Abner the ager was waiting for me when I went out to walk. I brought him in, he ate, and is snoozin'.

How is Midsommar? I like the name and that meerschaum is beautiful.

Thank you! Shallow bowl = great for a shorter smoke. As far as the baccy goes, so far, so good. Certainly not a disappointment. This is the first time i've tried it (and straight from a moist/freshly opened tin), so i'll have to reserve my opinions until i've smoked at least 1/2 tin or so in various vessels of honor. ;)

Well when you have your opinions I would love to hear them. Might buy some myself.
