Just trying to keep her comfortable but it’s close to the end. She had great life out in the boat, at the beach in the Bahamas and out here in the hills. I think she knows it.

So sorry to hear your friend may be on his last legs. My just turned 13 year old lab is sleeping next to my chair, and as he had terrible diarrhea today, I can only hope it's a very passing thing, and that we'll have a few more years together. Hard to know, though.
