Wessex pipes have been made by more than one factory. Around 2005 we started to see Wessex blasts in about 5 or 6 shapes with 3 digits which were made by Chacom. Old bowls allegedly, with handcut rubber cumberland. They will be marked "Made in France". More recently these pipes in a similar style have been made in Italy . I don't know if it's Lorenzetti. I believe the stems are acrylic but have a cumberland look. The reports on the Chacom made pipes were that they were good pipes for the money.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and have about a third of a bowl left of Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Evening Flake in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson Ebony POTY 4AB No. 422/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Just cleaned some pipes. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Both of mine were made in Italy, and have vulcanite stems.

@Ahi Ka Nice pipe and good tobacco choice. How long did it take you to smoke so as to give me an idea of my smoking times I should be aiming for. Sent you a PM regarding our smoke off. It looks a bit smaller than my Pollock clay cutty but bigger than my Jamestown clay.
I await your reply and look forward to hearing from you - and the Clay King hasn't broken any clay pipes since Nantwich nearly 2 months ago!
3 days on and off. But in a single sitting probably 30mins-1hour. I predominantly clench and walk around while smoking my clay, but I’m going into intensive rocky hibernation training now.

Yes, Wessex pipes came in different finishes and stems. The pipes I referred to earlier was to really to make the point that "Made in France" would likely appear on French made Wessex pipes. I imagine "Made in Italy" would be stamped on those Wessex pipes of Italian production. Do yours have "Made in Italy" stamped on them?

The stamp is "Italy", not "Made in Italy."
