It’s 1st April on our side of the pond

A tasting bowl of Sam Gawith’s blending Perique

In a double walled porcelain Royal Copenhagen quarter bent Dublin with vulcanite stem.
A Jorn Micke design

The Perique had some raisiny, figgy character with a foetid, if not faecal top note.
Peppery on the palate and retrohale.
Voluminous smoke, even when sipped.
Noticeable nic hit, even in this small group 1 bowl.
Smokeable on its own, but I will use it as a blending condiment

A second bowl in this Franken-clay - Cutty clay bowl, bamboo extension, acrylic tortoise shell stem with silver ferrule

1B5F1508-3099-4AA9-B1FA-41259D127DE1.jpeg
A home blend of Edoterica Tilbury, C&D red Virginia and Sam Gawith’s blending Perique
Proportion: 40:40:20 %

Not quite the raisiny, figgy plummy profile I was after
Back to the drawing board ☹️
