Classic Burley Kake and In a Carey Magic Inch. My every day Scotch accompanying. Jesus! Took me five minutes to write these few words. Maybe too much accompanIment. Damn spell check is not drunk friendly. What’s up with that?
Enjoyed a wonderful salad, barramundi and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm passing the half way mark on this bowl of Sutliff Presbyterian Ordained in a straight smooth brown 2017 unbranded Upshall Canadian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.
Enjoying some Queen Anne's Revenge in a Limited Edition 1995 Radford's Pipe of the Year. This is a delightful aromatic, but man is it wet! Guess I should lay it out to dry for an hour or two before smoking it.
Off to the studio with a bowl of Wilke No. 72 in a pre-1974 dark brown straight Larus & Brother Co. Signature billiard with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem with the initials LCR on the top of the stem. This blend was smoked by Walter Cronkite. Listening to Fibber McGee and Molly on the XM.
Today smoking
Peterson Elizabethan Mixture
In a Castello squat Bulldog
This was bought new and I’ve only had 4-5 smokes in it
previously
Nice open draw, but still “tighter” than the cob.
The smoke was not as open and tasted richer and more mellow than out of the cob
Smoked side-by-side
Peterson Elizabethan Mixture
In a cob
I was surprised at the really open draw compared with the Castello
The smoke onterestingly had an altogether more “airy and open” flavour/taste
Almost like smoking out of a gourd calabash.
