Seems odd that the original would cover the stamping on the stummel? I don’t know much about Dunhills, but it just seems like an odd design, if so?

Agreed. I've seen that also other Dunhill pipes with gold or silver spigot from that time period has the same type of ferrules wich partially covers the markings. The Dunills are 100% handmade though.

Loaded up some Drexel in a meerschaum bent billiard with some Sol Mexican lager to drink. First time trying this blend. Was shipped to me in the pouch and also sealed in cellophane. The pouch dated 11/29/17. A wonderful VaPer. Burned cool and gave all the flavors you'd expect, but was sweeter than most that I've had and the Perique was much more fruit than pepper.View attachment 212335

I've been sitting on a cellophane sealed pouch of this -- which was a freebie thrown in with another order -- for awhile. Thanks for the reminder -- I should try this!

4th go around with The Virginia Cream. It’s starting to make more sense. I’m not an aromatic piper and if I were blind smoking this I wouldn’t recognize it as being such. At least not in taste. Definitely a sipping tobacco. Warming up to it.
