In between slurping wine I'm smoking some Argentine twist mixed with a Virginia/Burley blend plus a pinch of Condor in the black Falcon.

My family: my wife, daughter, son-in-law, grandson, granddaughter and my sister, took me out for a birthday dinner (76!), to a local Greek restaurant, the Psistaria.
Great food and family warmth and love.
When I got home, I fired up a bowl of McClelland's Samovar in my Peterson Sherlock Holmes Original. I set it in the Peterson Sherlock Holmes pipe rest, a wonderful gift from LatakiaDave. Again, thank you, my friend Dave.
To complement my smoke, I had a few drams of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel-Barrel Proof (67.5% ABV).

Made the fam dinner tonight - NY Strip, corn and taters. Cleaned up - said goodnight to youngest and will likely play virtual pool…turned on some John Coltrane and going to enjoying this bowl of Joie De Vivre in a Christmas Sav 606KS Thanks @LotusEater for the 2014 tin from the SS exchange.

This month marks the beginning of the “estimated peak of 8-12 years.” After the hiss opening the tin - the smell was wretched. I was like…uh, it’s gotta smoke this shit cause it was a gift. And - what a gift indeed. Had some breathing time - perhaps needs more - but…this is a smooth and, to me, complex blend. I’ve never had it fresh, so, damnit…now I have to buy a tin of that and find other tobacco time fill to my free shipping.

I’ll be interested to see how this smokes over the next few weeks. Maybe share more about thoughts in the review thread at some point. But - for tonight I give it a thumbs up ?

Packed for later, C&D Big'n'Burley, in a Savinelli Venere straight rusticated apple I won years ago in the Pipes Magazine and SP sponsored cartoon caption contest, in which I also won a Savinelli t-shirt. I'll attempt to post a picture of me, in the t-shirt, lighting up the pipe.

Peterson Deluxe Navy Rolls in a Peterson Deluxe System 20s. I've been enjoying this blend quite a bit. It always feels too moist when I rub the coins out, but for some reason it smokes pretty perfectly with pretty minimal dry time. I'm talking sub 5 minutes. I'm pretty impatient sometimes.
