Relaxing after a wonderful salad, giant filet mignon and sugar snap peas dinner with a small scoop of Dutch chocolate ice cream for dessert. I'm smoking Sept. 2015 Savinelli Doblone d’Oro in a smooth straight early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Now smoking Samuel Gawith 1792/Cob Flake in an unfinished Savinelli Series III lumberman. I wonder why it's called 1792 and not Cob Flake here? Maybe they didn't want an association with corn cob pipes? But they have those in England, too, right, so what gives? Anyone know?

My evening smokes have been Rattray's Brown Clunee. Smoked in a Savinelli 506, and an MM Cob. I think I'm going to like this blend. The tin note has the fonk for sure. I'd been aiming to try Old Gowrie first, but it's been out of stock at my online retailer for a while. Anyone else fond of this blend?
