Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am almost a third of the way through this bowl of D&R Raccoon’s Friend in a pre-1980s straight dark brown Comoy's Sandblast 186 billiard with a black vulcanite tapered stem. Going to do a little work but not much. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

MacBaren Latakia Rolls in a Savinelli Series III lumberman. Gonna have to try folding and stuffing next time. The latakia crumbles into a much finer consistency than the VA and DFK when rubbed which makes it hard to load the pipe with the components in balance.

I've converted to fold and stuff for the roll cakes and i find i get better flavor that way and it doesn't burn as hot. There was a video floating around of Per Jensen showing how to do it, it's pretty simple and i get good results. Dunno if you saw it or not but it's pretty helpful

Good morning good people (it's 8:30 a.m. in this part of the world). Smoking some "John Aylesbury - Mixture No 777", in a MM Hardwood pipe. Photo is taken in my home library's Lawrence Block department. I like this writer very much, his novels, his stories, especially his main character, Mutt Scudder, a private investigator (unlicensed), former policeman and alcoholic (from some point after, former alcoholic). There are also some good films based on this material.
Anyway, I find that pipes, tobacco and books make a good combination.
And this J.A. 777 is a decent aromatic mixture.

Be well all.
