Passing the quarter mark of this bowl of Wilke Picket’s Charge in a post-WW2 straight smooth brown pre-Republic Peterson’s Dublin 3 bulldog with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. This blend is Wall Street with much less perique (10%) than the regular W.S.

Earlier today, some old Brown Clunee in the DM.

Real nice, this stuff has held up well. Of course, I jarred it shortly after Ted Vig opened the tin for me, must've been April? Maybe March...
I told the pipe club guys to take a bunch but they took only little pinches, so it lingers...

Now smoking 2020 Burley Flake #1 in a cost-ello

Enjoyed a little low calorie snacking, and am smoking year 2020 D&R Penhooker Silver in a straight smooth brown undated pre-Republic Peterson Shamrock 263 Canadian with a nickel band and a tapered black p-lip stem. Listening to Fibber McGee and Molly from my radio collection. We named Molly Danger after Molly McGee. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Not me. With your encouragement, I took nearly a full tin worth. I then brought in May (forgot you were fishing on vacation) half a tin of Old Gowrie for you. But underneath, I added a "surprise" blend to make the tin almost full, separated with a piece of paper. Confident you'll savor the "surprise". Will bring to June meeting. The Brown Clunee is nice, has been enjoyable.
NOTE: The May meeting began with Canadians all around. Excellent conversation, as usual.

That is one beautiful pipe. Do Vesz’s pipes really smoke cooler and sweeter than others as he says?
Thank you.
I bought that as an estate, just because I loved the look of the pipe.
Hangs well and smokes very well, though I’m not aware of any magical “sap”
Does not pass a cleaner.
But I’m OK with that as I have a few Petersons with the same affliction 😁

Now smoking Wilke No. 515 Double Shot in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This is No. 515 with twice the rum of the Basil Rathbone blend. Reading baseball box scores.

Sounds like a good pipe to me if it checks all those boxes except passing a cleaner. I have no idea about the dead root briar he speaks of though.

No, my sense of taste is not so developed that I can discern nuances in briar from different regions or if they are air vs kiln dried or oil-cured

I can imagine that some super tasters may be able to tell the difference in new pipes with unstained chambers.
I just can’t see how that is possible in a well-loved estate -despite the assertions of some

Dan, do you have to have a specific weight of tobacco in the pipe for the Fast Pipe Competition?
@Scottmi It says in the video it's the same amount of tobacco in every pipe:
I notice the Condor packet on the table when they're handing out the clay pipes. I can almost smell all that pipe smoke just watching the video:)
