Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm passing the half way mark of this bowl of year 2020 Pfeifen Huber Virginia Golden Flake in a 1938 smooth straight brown patent Dunhill R 115 bowling ball apple with a tapered cumberland stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the Phillies-Cards game.

How much age brings out the best in Royal Twist?
I, actually, don't know. I've never smoked it, fresh nor aged. When I pop the first tin, it won't be calculated. I've got other coins that I'll do first .... Three Nuns (aged), Escudo (aged), some jarred Club Blend (very aged). But I'll eventually get to the Royal Twist.
BTW, I've enjoyed reading about your different home blending recipes since I like fiddling around a lot with different combos. Also, you frequently mention your "Odds & Ends", which inspires me to dip into my "Junk Jar', AKA my "Odds & Ends".
And love seeing your companions with their own personalities.

Got through a visit from the in-laws (naturally, badly in need of booze now), and ended the day with Peterson Flake in a Peterson Irish Harp 80s blasted dog. 9.1/10

Bird report: Mountain chickadee, House finch (regular and yellow variant), Common raven, California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, California quail, Hairy woodpecker, and California towhee.

Evening bowl to begin the great unwind for the day. Bluegrass in an Armellini.

This is one of those blends i thought was just 'meh' right out of the tin. It sat for a while on the shelf and i tried it in a couple other pipes until this one just fit it perfect. Really have enjoyed the last couple bowls paired this way. And so it shall be, whenever there is bluegrass there will be Armellini. ;)

OM Gosh -- I'm "blown away". Have just smoked half a bowl of G&H Brown Flake U/S which I've had jarred for 11 years. Never smoked it fresh. Read reviews of it while smoking the first half bowl. I'm immediately ready to order more, a lot more. NOTE: Would give me a good opportunity to also (finally) order some ES Evening Flake. I'll finish this bowl tonight but want to repeat with a half bowl, then DGT the other half for, maybe, couple days.
Smoked in a Peterson System Standard 305, Donegal Rocky finish .... a wonderful smoking pipe (!!!).

Got big pot of Spanish Rice in the oven. Will go along with tomorrow's baked Pork Chops.
