McConnell highgate in my j05. Evening lunt. This pipe smoked sour so I cleaned it out using some whiskey. Problem SOLVED!

Absolutely! I've used pipe cleaners & Q-tips dipped in (Canadian) whiskey (whisky) to clean pipes for years. The stems, the shanks, the bowls all turn out fine. Couple pipe club members have said they just use bare pipe cleaners, but I encourage them to try whiskey .... or brandy, or rum. The alcohol seems to work like a solvent, plus whiskey (my preference) just adds its own "magic". I've read there are some who use Everclear. No doubt it'd work fine, but it's expensive & can be hard to find.

While running an errand I popped into my local vape shop and bought a pouch of Sutliffe Match 20 because @AroEnglish mentioned in another thread he preferred it to My Mixture 965. Well, it must have Burley in it, to which I am highly sensitive. Aside from the nose sting, sneezing and tongue bite it was quite delicious in the Vauen Olaf bent egg. I think I will be mixing it with other tobacco to tone it down.

While smoking it I noticed a brown moth with a flourescent white spot on its wing. It looked remarkably like a rare Vapourer Moth which are only indigenous to England, Ireland, Scotland. Or it could have been a Spiny Oak Slug Moth ... not sure. These are things I notice while smoking.
Ah sorry, my friend! I don't like burley myself and am now only realizing it has some. It must be a small amount but it is listed as an ingredient on TR. Keep me posted on what you end up mixing it with.
