Brighton, Tilbury, Dunbar and Dorchester are the only ones I’ve smoked, and have still have jars of.

It’s been quite sometime since I’ve had the Dorchester, but Brighton is really nice. I think I’ll crack up the Dorchester tonight, if I finish the Brighton I’m smoking now.

Have you tried Brighton?
No, the current day prices are prohibitive, I wanted to try Dunbar and Dorchester at least once because I’m a VaPer guy so I paid the premium prices for a couple of tins. I was not a pipe smoker when Esoterica was active, no opportunity to hoard! 😂 I love Dorchester, it’s better than Dunbar, in my humble opinion. Those are the only Esoterica blends I’ve had the privilege of trying. I’m not usually particularly fond of ribbon cuts either but Dorchester just smokes and packs effortlessly.

A quarter of the way through this bowl of Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Evening Flake in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson Ebony POTY 4AB No. 422/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Watching the Braves-D-Backs game while I record the Yankees-Dodgers game. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

I bet I’d like Brighton, looked up the description, I love shag cuts, never had a shag cut Va. I might try and snag a tin if I see one on Tinbids or Pipestud’s site.

Been smoking more MacBaren golden extra today, I'm more of a virginia guy usually but this stuff might convert me!

Trying some C&D John Marr for the first time in a Dr. Grabow riviera dublin. It's a good quality blend in general but every whiskey/bourbon blend that I've tried taste off to me, and unfortunately, this is no exception.

That's very interesting. I know China grows the most tobacco in the world, by far, but have no idea what local pipe tobacco is sold there. It looks like if you just grow and sell a small amount, the authorities will ignore you. I don't think the authorities are that tolerant in the US.
China Tobacco Group has branches in each province, with independent brands and products. For example, Wuhan produces cigars through cooperation with Central American countries, and the quality is quite good. I don't think there is a significant difference between cigars and those originating in Dominica. The province with many pandas also produces cigars made from local tobacco. A few years ago, they tried to produce several types of pipe tobacco, which is said to be very bad. It is inevitable that they do not smoke pipes at all.

Windjammer in my Kaywoodie Flane Grain Meerschaum.
After an eventful day transporting our horses to the new to us house, I thought I’d have a smoke and enjoy the sunset….as I took this pic for WAYS posterity, I had just spotted a leak in our water system and have been playing in the mud for the past three hours. Just now getting back to my pipe. F68749DC-4C44-4CA1-8C92-7F2D1A556F1F.jpeg
