Having Smoky Air in New York. The normal Air Quality Index is 35 to 50 this time of year—at 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm today, the AQI hit 484 (hazardous levels); the index tops out at 500!



This was the World Trade Center after 2:00 pm. The sun is to the right of the antenna.



In all my years in New York, I’ve never witnessed the air being like this.

Great first week for the pup so far, so treating myself to just a little bit of this with the Pete SH Natural Professor. Glad I ordered 4 tins and going to order more and jar it!!!

Savinelli Oscar 122, Pot with 2022 Cringle flake. Tried this right after I received it in Dec 22 and decided to let it sit in a jar for awhile. Caught my eye while perusing the baccy cabinet today.
The time in the jar was very beneficial. Much better smoke.
A mug of 50/50 Kombucha and black ice tea.

I am back East in New Jersey visiting friends, so yes, this is another Look at that sky!!! post. Went for a walk along the railroad tracks, and had a bowl of The Royal Yacht mixture in a Savinelli Miele. The picture doesn't do it justice, but the sun through the haze was pretty much the same red the tin label uses.

A third of a bowl left of Sutliff Presbyterian Ordained in a straight smooth brown 2017 unbranded Upshall Canadian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Dinner follows this smoke. Watching the Braves-Mets game, and just finished cleaning a few pipes. Fed Daisy the Feral Princess and Tomato the Brave, too.

No action pics today, but put 4 more smokes on the Briarlee Illustrious (billiard or Dublin, I’m not sure-barely canted but not parallel).
NM400, MacB Vanilla Cream, 507C.

13 smokes, 3 days with only blowing out stem and wiping down fixture threads. This guy is trucking along like my cobs with seemingly no ill effects-maybe it’s cause I hang it to dry…

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm half way through this bowl of Sutliff States of Virginia Limited Edition ’23 in a 2002 smooth natural straight silver banded Ardor Venere Extra Fatta A Mano Maigret billiard, signed by Dorelio Rovera with a tapered black acrylic stem. Red, bright, and stoved Va. flakes side by side so you can mix them as you want. I layered each blend for this smoke. Will post my review at TR tomorrow.
