Smoking a bowl of Cannon Plug made up of the remains of a plug kindly sent to me by a forum member. Maybe I am getting older or my taste buds are f*cked but I swear Cannon Plug used to taste like you were smoking a Urinal Brick or an air freshener like Glade. This stuff tastes like Grousemoor with a dash more Gawith sauce on the stuff. It is not too terrible and I am enjoying this in one of Weezells small 'Cutty' pipes.

I'm trying Cobblestone Brick Burley Plug for the first time in a Georg Jensen bent brandy. It was much drier in the tin than I prefer, but it Rubbed out easy, took to the flame with very little coaxing, and has been smoking extremely well. So far, so good. I'm always on the lookout for a good burley blend.

I never got around to try any before 2020, but i totally agree with the Grousemoor comparison. I have both plugs, and after trying cannon I stopped buying Grousemoor

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am passing the quarter mark on this bowl from a freshly opened tin of Sutliff Phantom Privateer Crumble Cake No. 6 Barrel Aged Series Limited Edition in a smooth straight 1930s unbranded Austrian 1930s zulu meer with a replacement tapered orange/brown acrylic stem. Working on a review of this blend which goes on sale July 4. First time smoking this new-to-me meer that was previously owned by my friend, the late David Ward, a.k.a. Weezell. RIP old friend.

Hi Jim,

What’s the basic flavor profile of No. 6?

Before 2020 it definitely had the 'Pub Toilet' sort of taste to it. @simong thought it reminded him of an Avon room freshener or Glade Airwick. I think the plug is much better than Grousemoor even if they do sort of smell very similar.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and have a third of a bowl left of Seattle Pipe Club Deception Pass plug in a smooth straight brown late 1930s Linkman’s Dr. Grabow Deluxe Bruyere 9703B pot with a nickel accent and a black tapered vulcanite stem. Gold Star mmmMidnight, neat, is my drink. Got the mail and had to laugh that a Christmas card we sent out was returned today. Good to see USPS has improved their service.

Deception Pass Plug? I was unaware of this product’s existence until just now. Did you press the plug yourself or did Sutliff make a plugged version? I love Deception Pass and would jump at the opportunity to try the plug version.
