Did a little snacking, and am smoking 2021 Watch City Simply VOriental in a straight smooth medium brown 1930s Wilshire 5 bulldog (Comoy’s second) made for John’s Pipe Shop in Los Angeles with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Began the familiarizing process with Derringer today. As recommended by @edger and @JimInks. The first bowl of Derringer was meh. The two subsequent bowls were an improvement and just kept getting better. I also tried Kackknife Plugged RR. Again the first smoke was underwhelming and the second, was an improvement.

A third of the way through this bowl of Prince Albert in a straight smooth walnut 1927 KBB Kaywoodie Drinkless 86 dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This model was only made in 1927.

Half way through this bowl of year 2012 Carter Hall in a black rusticated medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY 4AB No. 437/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Finished work for the day.

The same thing happens to me, in this type of events or meetings. Surely, when you have been talking to a stranger for 5 minutes, he will ask you if he can borrow your van, pickup truck.

Finally decided to have a bowl of Mixture 79 in one of my oldest pipes - a Georg Jensen bent billiard which I've had since the '70s

Funny how comforting an old pipe and familiar tobacco can be.
Still upset, but feeling a lot calmer now.

I have four that I smoke regularly. I will say this, they are excellent choices for a smoke. I can see why he enjoys these pipes, although I find his exuberance for them over stated. It is getting hard to find ones I would consider buying.
