The first smoke in that Falcon was surprisingly nice. I am sorry that I just dismissed these for years. Now smoking My VaPer (a special mix of Esoterica Brighton and SJ Perique) in a Castello Old Antiquari #65 Bent Billiard KKKK Kino.
After a few hours of work around the house, fit in my second bowl of Eight State Burley in the new Aran 408, which has smoked great both times. Will stick with the burley a couple more times and then try Fr. Dempsey or EMP.

I am smoking some 16 year old Marlin Flake and I’m so impressed.
Years ago, I smoked MF and put away some tins. Back in the day, MF was considered a straight VA. Then I got tired of the taste, esp the cavendish. I found HOTW more to my liking.
Lately, I’ve been exploring VAPers and pulled out a tin of MF from 2005. The cavendish taste is gone, or muted. The perique is mellow. And the red VA matured beautifully.

About a third of a bowl left of D&R Windsail in a 2018 full bend smooth Peterson Sherlock Holmes Lestrade with a silver band and a black vulcanite saddle p-lip stem.
Excellent meal of pork steaks, steamed broccoli, potatoes, and stir fry.
