Packed for later in the day, Match My Mixture 965 (PC) in a Tsuge tasting pipe, a straight light blast tapered billiard with a great big chamber, an ordinary pipe by appearance, but showing a lot of the fit-and-finish care associated with Tsuge up-market pipes.

Yours is only the second one I’ve seen besides my own. I think I’m right in saying they were only produced from 1946-60?
I’m after a birth year pipe myself, that beautiful 2 long ‘66 Dunhill that pauliscandinavian posted earlier would do nicely. Hint hint...?

On occasion I look to see what’s available just out of curiosity.

The “opera” was produced in later years, and other finishes, from what I’ve seen. But most of what I see is the 320 shape, very similar- I don’t now what the differences are.

So I guess you gotta shot at it.

A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2017 Savinelli Doblone d’Oro in a smooth straight brown early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

I’m a big fan of Romeo Y Julieta 1875’s, especially the Cedro Deluxe #1’s. Those boxes were the first thing my eyes were drawn to lol

Afternoon tryout of St. Bruno RR in a small Tilshead smooth Dublin with tapered stem. Set out a bowlful and let dry 3-4 hours before putting it to the match. Nice, so far, but with SG and GH flakes etc. out there, don't know if this will be a regular. The hunt for greats bowls continues.
