Just finished smoking year 2013 Capstan Blue in a smooth dark brown post-WWII Comoy’s Grand Slam 340 patent billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem.
Now smoking year 2013 Stonehaven in a straight black sandblasted pre-transition Barling Exel 249 Fossil T.V.F. black billiard with a silver banded military mount and a black ebonite tapered stem. My favorite pipe. Need to take a better photo of this pipe.

According to this paper from 1925/1926 the patent is for "Tobacco pipes with arrangements for cleaning or cooling the smoke with absorbent linings"

Looks like a similar arrangement to what Falcon would do in metal a few years later in 1936
