Brighton (sample) in the Stefano bent Rhodesian. High 80s today, about as hot as it ever gets here in the mountains. Relaxing with a beer and a little Paul Desmond to take the edge off...glad to be done with this day.

Bird report: Common raven, Oak titmouse, White-breasted nuthatch, Western kingbird, California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, Northern flicker, California quail (several!), and House finch. The cicadas are finally dying off, not to be seen again for another decade and a half. Hopefully, by then, in the immortal words of Hans Gruber, I'll be sitting on a beach, earning 20%. ?️?puffy

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, giant porterhouse steak and for the first time since I started dieting, white cheddar mac 'n cheese on the side for dinner along with a bowl of double chocolate ice cream for dessert. I'm getting near the half way mark on this bowl of year 2014 Wessex Campaign Dark Flake in a smooth dark brown medium bend year 1924 Dunhill 136A double patent apple with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Posted my review of C&D Anthology at TR a little earlier.
