Relaxing after a wonderful salad, snapper and snow peas dinner with peach slices for dessert. I'm half way through this bowl of Wilke Edwin on the Hudson beta #1 in a straight smooth brown 1950s The Saint James London Pipe (Comoy’s second) 185M billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. First time smoking this pipe. It took me a long time to figure out what genre of tobacco to dedicate it to, but I have decided it's a VaPer pipe. The Saint James line was Comoy's highest grade seconds. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Watching the Red Sox-Yankees game on ESPN.

Went outside pondering whether to have a half bowl of Old Tobey ... suddenly I wondered if I was having a stroke ... NO ! Its firefly night ! They are rising 10-20 at a time out of the front and back lawn ! Hundreds of them. All lighting up waiting to attract a mate so they can mate then die ... (seems eerily familiar). So ... Country Squire Green Dragon it is in the Savinelli Erica Fiamma 128 Billiard with 6mm filter in honor of the fireflies !

(Not my yard but same kind of effect)

Very cool.

Despite living in an active city, we have wooded areas and a semi-private property that results in all sorts of critters (squirrel, chipmunks, turkey, rabbit, deer, raccoons).

My daughter is starting to enjoy nature and would love the firefly scene. We have mini solar lights to light the sidewalk and a few in a 20 foot area with trees on both sides to create an "enchanted forest".

She would have loved the spotted fawn (about a week or two old) that was in the fern garden at the woods edge eating some vegetable scraps I tossed there last night. It looked up at m and I waived to it and it came running in the backyard hopping around looking for more to eat. Then it panicked when it realized it was out of sight of Mom and kept running around looking for her but she had moved on over the stone wall to the neighbors yard and it eventually found her. It will be back. To keep within the thread I was smoking Country Gentleman in a Vauen Olaf bent egg at the time on my back porch.
P.S. Bring her to the country ... she'll learn alot with just one outing. !

The Power of One is a great book and movie where one of the many lessons is that any answer you seek in life can be found in nature (like a waterfall begins with one deop of water).

In keeping with the book/movie, I say "absoloodle". In keeping with the thread, University Flake torn to semi-shag in a Savinelli Arcobaleno (blue) 606 KS.
