Haven’t tried it but recently discovered Royal Yacht and love it. Do you know how they compare? There is also now 5 Year Matured, I think from McConnell.

Very few similarities based on my memory. I dont think I ever liked royal yacht.
Haven't tried any of the McConnell "match" blends.

Lane Dark Red in a whacky Mario Grandi. Bought this pipe new several years ago, never got around to smoking it. It has been sitting in one of my cabinets, and this evening I decided to take it out.

The large mass of briar keeps it smoking cool. And it smoked like a champ right off.

With generous chamber, and a slow burning tobacco, it’s a great pipe to just sit and enjoy for an hour or two. Not a clencher by any means.
