Oh man, I love sockeye! We rarely get any in our food stores in my part of Tennessee. I’d love to come to your neck of the woods and do some fishing one of these days! I’d also love to go moose, caribou, brown bear and black bear hunting up there some day. I’ve got the guns, just ain’t got the funds......
Haha, let me know if you make it up. Sockeye are easy. Moose and bear though, for a non-resident, as you said is ridiculously expensive.

How do you like it? On my “to try” list.
The Lizzie blood was good. very little topping, lots of Virginia flavor, that was my first impression, my palate usually changes after I smoke a blend a few times. The Rum cake was totally different than what I was expecting, flavor wise. All the Wilke tobaccos have high quality leaf and I recommend them. Tonight I try the 151 and smoke Rum cake again, the rum flavor is hard to describe. Mr. Jiminks is the man for that . Thanks for asking

While my wife and I are not that fond of fish, my older son is! We always buy Wild Alaskan Sockeye, but Costco and supermarket brands don’t have that deep shade of red.

Yep, sockeye (or as we call them red salmon) are notorious for their dark red and delicious flesh. Their “reds” nickname however, actually comes because they turn and deep red color with green heads when they spawn.

I've had sockeye red plank salted/grilled, and that was straight-up delicious fish. Really rich, with an ideal amount of natural oil in the flesh.
