Smoking 2012 Vintage Syrian. Unlike the 2015 and onward Vintage Syrian’s I have, this one has big slivers of broken Virginia flakes in it. Honestly, the Syrian in these blends is likely the same, but there are small differences between the years being mitigated by the same casing. They are all great. I wish Pease did a version of Quiet Nights with Syrian as it’s fruity/wine topping/casing would go really well with it. I find myself smoking aged Quiet Nights just as often, but there is something special and aromatic about Syrian Latakia. The old Latakia in this blend tastes a lot more forward, while being mellow and crisp. It just has a better flavor. Remembering back, I can’t believe in 2012 Mac Baren was using it in all their blends, even if used lightly. You wouldn’t think they would’ve used their special Syrian Latakia in Plumcake, but they did!IMG_1374.jpeg

Revisiting Haunted Bookshop, which I really didn’t like when I tried it when I first started. SPcom put an ounce in a recent order, so what the heck…
Breaking in the new Ropp J07 smooth, which seems to want to gurgle a bit-might need a little work.

Horse hocks are crappy areas to try to keep bandaged, in case you didn’t know.

Just wondering, did you figure out what Bob cut himself on?
