Well, Happy New Year to All, and to All a Good Pipe. First smoke of the New Year for me was very predictable.

And after you see this revamped photo, I'll Need a Little Help From My Friends.
As you may or may not be aware, a couple of months ago I bought an estate pipe, a Ropp 350 from the 1950s, cleaned it up, rebroke it in, and began smoking it with Pirate Cake as a dedicated Rx vehicle for my all to frequent cases of tongue bit. Smoked great, and so far so good.
With it's first major cleaning after my "restoration" job, I inserted a pipe cleaner from the business end, and where the former owner had kinda chewed it up a bit, the indentation turned into a V shaped hole as shown in the pictures below.
The draw was completely changed and ruined, the usual pipe condoms don't fit well over the business end and make matters worse. It was unsmokeable.
My solution so far is electricians' tape cut to size, and wrapped, and even though it works, I figure it's just a temporary measure until its separation and/or other disintegration takes place. This already seems to be happening. I'm a useless handiman, and now asking for a little help because I know some of you are not and have restored heritage pipes.
It's a sweet smoker, but so are other pipes of mine, and I'm not above pitching it out or giving it away to someone who has the skills and patience to deal with this. I have neither.
Suggestions please!
Thanks
Gord
