Yeah, it is a bit gloopy. The raspberry is the only one I smoke, and that occasionally. The 1Q is way too much. That’s sad. I loved Lane BlackRaspberry but early on developed a distaste for the humectant Lane puts in all their aros.

Yeah I totally regret getting rid of my 102 short army smooth and look at his rusticated one with envy.It is such a useful little pipe.
I know Sobrbiker here also really enjoys his Peterson short army. Different line, same concept
Ok, I have a confession to make, with apologies to the guy who gave me the little algerian pipe. It is a neat pipe that smokes great. But when I did the initial cleaning, with vodka as usual, it started smelling, shall we say, odd. It also bled stain all over my hands. It made me uncomfortable to smoke that stuff. I took off the stem and dunked the stummel completely in a jar of vodka for about 3 hours. The alcohol turned dark brown. Then took it out and rubbed it off outside and swabbed the interior with pipe cleaners. Still tons of stain and odd smell. So back in the baptismal it went. 3 hours later I repeated the clean up. This time it smelled better and the stain was stabilized. The overall stain is pretty close to the original. It brought out the grain nicely. And now it smokes very well, and is a pleasure to use. I am on bowl 6. I let it dry for 2 days before lighting up. I was afraid it might ignite the whole alcohol soaked pipe and just go poof! Not one to give up easily, I’m still trying to smoke the stank out of this cheap ElMorjane Algerian briar.

Was going to start spraying 2+ acres to get rid of the invasive Globe Chamomile (aka Stinknet) infestation before it takes hold but the weather says “not today!”
Funny, I’m almost out of Everclear and asked my wife to see if there was half or full pints at the grocery store Friday. We’re both clean and sober, and since my pipe hobby is all booze is for in our home, she came home empty handed because all they had was liters (last 1/2 pint lasted almost a year of routine and estate cleaning). I guess with the couple ElMorjanes I’ve got that would’ve been about rightOk, I have a confession to make, with apologies to the guy who gave me the little algerian pipe. Yes. It is too bad they obviously dip stained the pipes. I too very seldom drink alcohol. I do occasionally make a couple gallons of my own wine, and give it away to friends and family. I think I've had 3 glasses of wine myself in the last year.Funny, I’m almost out of Everclear and asked my wife to see if there was half or full pints at the grocery store Friday. I love the cheap and the size for a beater briar, but that stain is horrible!
