Not one to give up easily, I’m still trying to smoke the stank out of this cheap ElMorjane Algerian briar.
Home mix codger “Undecided” (BLWB/Yorktown/Habana Daydream/Match Windsor 805).

Was going to start spraying 2+ acres to get rid of the invasive Globe Chamomile (aka Stinknet) infestation before it takes hold but the weather says “not today!”

I've got to spray for creeping charlie, burweed and various other broadleaf lawn invading weeds in the next couple of weeks before I reset the bermuda. I've found Trimec Classic does the trick. There's not much to kill as I've kept up with it but I still spray the entire lawn which happens to be 2 acres.

Been enjoying a quiet day of just catching up. I sent my tax files both personal and corporate to my accountant so all that remains is to get them back, sign the completed returns and send in a check to Uncle Sam so he can bling himself up with more shit that doesn't do anything for me! I am smoking this old favorite of mine which is an early 20th century (like 1900s) meerschaum 'cutty' with a Redmanol stem. I suspect the stem may be a later addition from some time before 1922 since I think the Redmanol company was taken over by the company that made Bakelite in 1922 and the Redmanol Corporation only started in 1913. It also might be an example of 'Ruby Amber' which was a color of faux amber used during this time and often misrepresented on Ebay all the time as 'Cherry Amber' and other such nonsense. I am smoking a bowl of 1999 RB Plug to enjoy the scents and nuances of a truly great tobacco before it got changed.

I have a KB&B calabash with a Redmanol stem and last year I picked up a Reiss Premier Redmanol pipe with a screw on briar bowl. It's a small pipe and a wonderful smoker.

Had Drew Estate Harvest On Hudson in a MM Dagner Poker on the family walk today. It's the only apple aro I have on hand, but it's like what BRM is to cherry, and it scratches the itch. Now to find some itch ointment...

Bird report: California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, California towhee, Spotted towhee, Oak titmouse, White-breasted nuthatch, American crow, Mountain chickadee, Dark-eyed junco, White-crowned sparrow, California quail, Mourning dove, Red-tailed hawk, and Western bluebird. Basically everything but the flicker.

Shavuatov!
As a bird need I enjoy your bird reports. I'd have to head north a bit to see a Mountain Chickadee. We get black-capped occasionally but mostly Chestnut backed...looking at a Northern Flicker as I type and smoke.

Stepping into my workspace to enjoy a celebratory bowl of Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake in a sandblasted Barling bent egg. What I'm celebrating is its merciful release from competition against clearly inferior blends, and now that what's done is done, I can get back to more important things. Like indiscriminately downvoting any Lakelands out of sheer principle.

@brandaves Cheers! Chickadees are my favorite. Thanks for trying to help w/LNF there...we can't help it if everyone's taste, as Willem Dafoe's character in To Live and Die In LA said, is in their @$$... :ROFLMAO:

My dream home is a tiny cabin in the woods with only endemic species growing at their will with no interference from me. Someday..maybepuffy

Same here. I work in Raleigh and live out in the country one county over to the east. When I retire I will be leaving this rat race. I will say that I am very particular when it comes to landscaping. I only plant what is indigenous to the area. We have an outstanding agricultural extension that has been been very helpful.

Well, at least it’s over 20 degrees for my second bowl of the day. Honestly, enough wool keeps me pretty warm. Anthology ‘23 in a Doctor’s Apple. The doc has a very obvious obsession with detail, he has an original vision. I really love his work. Working on my second acquisition on layaway (second photo). I’m usually not super into nose warmers, but these work for me so far, I still prefer close to 5 inches long.
