Ben, thank you for the link to this fantastic article! And I love this nugget of imparted wisdom: "I make conical air draft, narrowing from 4.1 mm to 2.3mm at the bit, in mouthpiece. My mouthpieces are always polished, not only outside, but inside as well. Polished air drafts are critical to achieving a comfortable, cool and dry smoke."

Smoking Grousemoor in a clay. On my porch, because it's too windy to light it away from there. View attachment 279035
@Carol Smoked some Grousemoor Plug in my clays; Gawith tobacco is very well suited to clay pipes:)
Dad says when I went to see the Sealed Knot when it was VERY windy I spent all day trying to light my clay:)
You could have done with this guy (see attached photo)...
