Enjoyed a tasty Snap Dragon apple, and am near the last quarter of this bowl of year 2012 Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. Watching a documentary about Benjamin Franklin.

Did some low calorie snacking, and am half way through this bowl of year 2012 Anniversary Kake in a smooth burgundy medium bend 1979 Chippendale (Charatan second) Rhodesian 49 with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Smokes as well as a first and worth the $19.95 I paid for it all those years ago. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Just finished smoking year 2014 Astley’s No. 55 in a 1915-1920 straight smooth dark brown BBB Own Make 150 apple with a silver band and a tapered black vulcanite stem.

Tomato the Brave took a snooze on my feet, but woke up when I snapped a photo. He proceeded to do a belly flop. The unnamed bushy tailed striped cat showed up. It’s not as afraid of me as Shy Stripesy (who I haven’t seen in almost three months), but it won’t let me get very close. It knows I’m feeding it, so maybe time will work a little trust and friendliness to its heart.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am near the last third of this bowl of year 2010 Full Virginia Flake in a straight 1968 Dunhill Shell bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Had some drama feeding Sleepy Suzy because Tomato the Brave wanted to eat, too, and neither Suzy or Molly Danger will eat if a feral is near. I put them out, but Suzy was too upset to eat. Well, when she gets hungry again I'll make sure the ferals are outside first. Watching Alias Smith and Jones.

A couple of photos of me at the Battle of Nantwich re-enactment yesterday. I met 2 people I'd had a clay pipe with; one at the Siege of Bolsover in 2019 & another at Nottingham Pipe Show in 2022. I was disappointed when I saw smoke coming from one of the re-enactors mouths only to find he was smoking a roll-up (there is evidence for smoking tobacco rolled in paper back then) but I really wanted a clay pipe photo...
One of the musketeers lit my clay with a length of match cord (he wasn't carrying gunpowder at the time)!

SG 1792 Flake in a clay. Had a clay pipe smoke with one of the re-enactors at the Battle of Nantwich yesterday; if I was in the Sealed Knot I'd probably be guzzling ale & bonfiring pipeweed...
Put the long clay shown in the photos in the safe until I meet Jason the blacksmith again; a long clay pipe is better for being lit from the blacksmith's forge! The pipe in the photo got broken later due to heat stress in the stem. Didn't break any clays yesterday!
