Going to have Esoterica And So to Bed (2021) in a GBD Prince with Churchwarden Army Mount—it is stamped "A La Havane Grenoble" on the right side of its shank (my guess is this was a tobacco shop in Grenoble). The lack of “Made in . . .” stamping is interesting; the “MRC” maker’s mark suggests England production, but, any date codes and hallmarks are too worn to make out; this could’ve been turned in France and finished in London, or made in London for export. A mystery to be sure.

Part way through this bowl of Wilke No. 72 in a pre-1974 dark brown straight Larus & Brother Co. Signature billiard with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem with the initials LCR on the top of the stem. This blend was smoked by Walter Cronkite. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Gifted to me here by Secret Santa, I’m calling this a 2018 year, given the sticker on the back of the tin of Russ Ouellette Acadian Gold, because this VA, has some serious fermented smell going on from some serious aging.

Smoking it in my Radice Rind Straight.

If this is how RO’s tins are dated, with stickers on the back, like this one 103018, I’d appreciate it if someone could say something? I assumed this was from October 30th 2018? hmm 🤔

This smells like Esoterica’s fermented note(s), but instead of apricot mixed in with all the musty fermented smells, it’s more like red wine/raisins.

I read there were only two barrels produced, so sad, this so amazing. 👍

I’ve switched gears, I’m more the VA/VaPer smoker now, and it’s been tough finding VA blends that don’t irritate my mouth The PH balance of Virginias make the roof of my mouth irritated.

So, this is really a blessing to get aged Virginia that doesn’t bother me. 🙏

Be well everyone! ❤️
