No. It was smoked once or twice before I got it.
My goodness that thing is so dark I thought it was a briar at first glance. Had to double take when I saw you said it was a meer.
When I bought it, it was advertised as briar. Had I not had so many of these pass through my hands I would’ve agreed.
BUT, I purchased it knowing it was a Meer.
Here’s a Bertram Meer with that coloring.
I can relate, I put mine in a jar and forgot about it for awhile. I can’t remember a few months a year? But I went back and it was better. No guarantees though
Enjoyed a tasty Envy apple, and am off to work with a bowl of year 2020 D&R Raccoon’s Delight in my very reliable smooth straight post-1938 pre-Republic Peterson Sterling Canadian 263 with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

Now smoking Wilke No. 72 in a pre-1974 dark brown straight Larus & Brother Co. Signature billiard with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem with the initials LCR on the top of the stem. This blend was smoked by Walter Cronkite.
Just finished a lightly-packed bowl of C&D Bright Virginia in my Savinelli 313.
Without writing another novel, I feel like some improved technique led to a really nice smoke this time around. I have no doubt that future ones will be even better!

@ashdigger remove the stem, put a chain and a stick on that meer and you'll have a Morningstar for medieval reanactment!

Roll up your driver's window but leave a just crack for ventilation. If you're filling up the cabin with smoke you're puffing too fast anyway but the draft from highway driving can be like a supercharger for a pipe
