2017 Union Square in an IMP. This blend ages well, has gained significant sweetness and the rough edges are gone.

In general, do you find the well aged smokes well right out of the tin or tub or do you still air it out?

Rare indoor Sunday morning bowl and mug of coffee - easing into things with KBV Embry’s Hot Mug and a new to me Comoy’s Tradition 496 restored by @ssjones and picked up on the FS. This is a stunning little pipe and barely notice it hanging as I type - good example of what could be found easily for a reasonable price by a beginner that would be a perfect first pipe, IMO. 2018 jarred HH Bold Kentucky (1/2) flake, rubbed out. combined with 1 full Newminster 400 Navy Flake, ribbed out. Nording hand made with Silver. Fantastic smoke. Give it a try. Enjoying a rainy Sunday morning with pipe and coffee!

In general, do you find the well aged smokes well right out of the tin or tub or do you still air it out?

For the most part, I think everything benefits from breathing a few days to few weeks. It sure doesn't hurt so why not?

Good night. I smoked a H Hupman Junior, in the parking lot outside the hospital. My father-in-law is recovering well. I think in a month, he will be living a normal life. Now I have occupied his bed, and sent him to walk around a bit, he has to take walks down the hall. Damn, the menu here is fantastic. I'm going down to the cafeteria right now, and have a nice potato omelet for dinner. Happy break guys.

I like your pipe holder! Did you make it? I have leather tools- you may have inspired a project.
What fly is painted on the work surface? Hmm, Adams?

I did. I stash them in the likely spots where I set the pipe down. That one has a grommet, but my other ones have a snap and double as bookmarkers. Pretty quick to do. Nothing fancy.
As for the fly, you are correct... Adams, size 24, upturned eye with pinched barb... Gotta give them browns a fighting chance....
