Sunday afternoon in the 'Orifice' cleaning up a few things ahead of the new week. I thought I would finish up a few opened tobaccos than have been hanging around such as this lump of RB Plug and a small amount of this 'Rustica' sent to me by Jim Inks. Today I am going to use two different pipes. One is a turn of the century Redmanol stemmed meerschaum 'cutty' with a silver band dated Birmingham 1900. The other pipe is a no name French or Austrian 19th century meerschaum with good quality amber stem. This pipe was turned up some years ago by Shaintiques and found its way into my collection after having a new case was made for it by my friend Ramazon who borrowed it as a pattern for the excellent meerschaum 'cutty' pipes he sells. You can comparing coloring progress by comparing the first pipe with the group picture of some meerschaums posted on another thread a few days ago.

Had a good yomp across the Downs and came home to homemade chilli and IPA. I’m smoking something I put in a tin last week but forgot to label, it’s good though, in a MM Marcus. My girlfriend, who is on the other side of the world at the moment, tells me I have something pipe related coming in the mail tomorrow. She thinks my pipe fixation is hilarious so it’s probably something odd. Goodnight everyone

The last bits and dust of a tin of Peterson Irish Flake from the bottom of the bowl where I rubbed it out, in a Thompson Cigar house pipe, a freestyle with plateau on the brim, stamped "West Germany," kind of a nice piece of history. I will likely reorder this blend which is so sturdy and rich. The pipe was a gift from friends.
