Just finished smoking Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style.
A quarter of the way through this bowl of Wilke Lizzie Blood Virginia in a straight 1960s Lane era Charatan black with burgundy undertone sandblasted billiard 420 with a black vulcanite tapered stem.
Santa brought me lots of new (and some just new to me) blends and several pipes for X-mas and my upcoming B-day. However, he, also, brought me the flu ?. So, my first pipe of the new year (and the last ten days) is Match Dunhill London Mixture (Big Ben) in a Preben Holm Freehand stamped with a circled 1.
Having a quick snack, and I'll have a bowl of year 2000 McClelland Christmas Cheer in a smooth straight WW2 Pre-Republic Peterson Sterling Canadian with a sterling silver band and a black vulcanite p-lip stem. Watching Seven Chances starring Buster Keaton.
Well, last night I figured I'd treat myself so something special, so I broke into a jar of McClelland Dark Navy Flake from 2016. Thick, chunky flakes that smell like sweet, savory BBQ, and taste like woody, sweet vanilla, with a bit of grassy lemon, and an occasional punch of bakers chocolate. All wrapped up in way more an alcohol retrohale than I would have though could stick around after a couple years in a jar and several hours drying after being rubbed out. I wish I had squirreled away a lot of these bulk blends when they were available. Oh well.
