One pic for the entire night's "work". Smoking outside after a rain, so both cool and wet = a ton of relights. Trying to smoke up the cheap MM blends I got for free (buy their premium stuff or other brands they carry, not these weak-flavored pouch blends). Loves me some MM, but these blends are weak. But free is free, and I'm not letting them go to waste.

First up, however, was Briarworks Pete's Beard's Blend, a medium English/Balkan I've liked for some time, but for the first time in the pirate meer. I've never had this happen in decades of pipe smoking, but the meer KILLED the taste of the latakia. Nothing. Mental note made not to smoke this blend in this pipe. Next we had the MM Missouri Pride, a VaBur, in the hourglass MM straight cob. And last, the MM Great Dane cherry/vanilla aromatic in the Nording Hunter 2019 smooth White Rhino, one of just several pipes I use for aromatics.

Thank you! It's a real American Bison calabash. The ultimate "rustication" was performed by the bison who "gifted" it by fighting with other males and rubbing it on everything. HUGE amount of interior volume cools any and all smoke before it reaches your lips. No tongue or lip bite worries with that thing. It's not just a curiosity; it's a real smoker I use all the time and love. I like to dream I'm Sherlock Holmes' US Southern brother, Bubba Holmes.

Not a ton. It's a typical, medium-sized bowl. The top is the same top as on a Basil Rathbone style gourd calabash. About 0.8 inch diameter at the top and tapering, and about 2 inches deep, but tapered at the bottom. But it's easy to clean, and you can just keep smoking bowl after bowl without worrying about damage to the pipe. I've sat on the porch many times with the tin and just tapped out the last of the ash and shoved more in there and kept on going.
