Decided to have a nice bowl of Exclusive in a Rattrays Olive Wood to carry me through to the afternoon. Fun watching this bowl color. I'm digging the olive wood thing.

Better get in this month - Happy Friday! A new Doug Finlay I commissioned for a Christmas pipe - sort of a “short” Churchwarden designed and perfectly executed to sit on my chest while doing this on my phone or reading - love it! And some festive GH&C American Black Cherry.

Enjoyed three ham, cheddar cheese, two egg open face sandwiches, a bowl of Raisin Bran with extra raisins, unsalted peanuts, and a golden delicious apple lunch. I'm almost a third of the way through this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Jamaican Estate Reserve, neat, is my drink. Thinking about snacking on a couple of cookies.
Love this CAO.Another unique expression by Mr. Wiedemann. Interestingly enough, though the topping is reportedly a light caramel, something about the mixture with the dark fired VA and Kentucky gives me slightly smoked coconut on the nose. On the palate it's another story. It's mildly sweet with noticeably spicey vegetal notes and the caramel is interpreted more as smokey, creamy undertones (reminds me of a much less sweet version of creme brulee, perhaps). Overall, good stuff. Not one that i stocked up on, though. Too many great offerings and there are a handful i prefer to this one.
After dinner smoke today is Brunello Flake in a CAO.

Nice pic. I've been needing to get out and ride one more time and get my bike batt on a trickle charger. Heading back to Florida next week and won't be back to Washington till summer. She'll be sitting patiently for a while.

Thank you! I actually just bought a new battery a couple of weeks ago. I let mine sit for too long without the trickle charger plugged in and even after a jump she wouldn't reliably hold a charge. In all fairness the battery needed replacing anyway.
I hope you get out there, even if it's just for a few miles. Time in the saddle makes all the difference as you know
